The natural indigo dye is hand dipped several times during the year long process ensuring the deepest indigo color. The jeans are hand sewn so sizing will vary, see the chart below for an average sizing.

The original selvedge denim in these use specially made ultra-thick slub yarn hand-dyed using the traditional 'Awa Shoai' method in Tokushima, Japan.
Not to be outdone by the roughness of the fabric and that beautiful blue that you only get with a Awa Shoai dye, the front and back pockets are stitched with thick orange and yellow thread. The thread is dyed right to the core, which prevents any uneven shading from wear and tear, and the fantastic indigo color will last for years.

Trying out the AI-001
(Blog article content from the Pure Blue Website)
This is one of the top-selling products at Pure Blue Japan, the Shoai-dyed denim AI-001.
This denim is woven with thread hank-dyed using the Awa-Shoai method so it's dyed right to the core. Because of this you won't notice loose threads or small rips. Well, I it's easy for me to say that.. but you might wonder if it's really true, right?
This is a pair of AI-001 worn almost everyday for three whole years. It's hard to pick out any atari (fading) and the fabric still has that eye-catching presence!
It might be hard to tell from the photo but the natural fading of the natural indigo color in the warp really is great! It looks like these jeans are just going to get better with age.
